US Trade Policy Agenda
The Trump Administration’s Trade Policy Agenda document has been published and is available online. Click on the link below for access. The document is replete with interesting and valuable information. Some of my takeaways…
- Interesting that the US is opting out of participation in the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity.
- The numbers surrounding China’s targeting the Maritime, Logistics and Shipbuilding sectors for dominance are eye-catching, if not alarming.
- Digital Services Taxes (DSTs) aren’t going away.
- Vietnam is an example of a country targeted under several Section 301 investigations, but took steps to resolve the matters to the satisfaction of the USTR, resulting in no punitive tariff action by the US.
- This administration is making international trade a top priority and will by all accounts continue to do so.
